Project report:
Hello and welcome to a little village near Valence in France. Here, an amazing group of people came together from all corners of Europe. I met new friends, discovered new perspectives, gained valuable experiences, practical skills, and deep knowledge. And above all – it was truly fun! It was my second time in France, and once again, thanks to the incredible work and dedication of these wonderful organizers. The project, titled Let’s Dare Inner Journey, took place from March 24th to April 4th, 2025 – and I can honestly say that many of us truly embarked on a powerful inner journey during that time.
Participants came from a wide range of countries – the Czech Republic, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, France, Spain, and Croatia. Despite the different languages, backgrounds, and cultures, we created an atmosphere of mutual respect, openness, and connection from the very first day.
A big thanks goes to our facilitators – Marylou, Mary, and Lily – for their energy, sensitivity, and guidance throughout the entire course. I also want to express my appreciation to Emily for the delicious and nourishing meals she prepared for us every day with such love and care.
We quickly became a tight-knit group, and we enjoyed not only the daily programme but also spending time together during hikes in the nearby mountains, evening reflections, and spontaneous music or dance sessions. There was always space for laughter, sharing, and being present in the moment. The core of the project was theatre – but not the traditional kind. We explored the method of Theatre of the Oppressed, which involves creative, interactive techniques rooted in psychology and social awareness. Through theatre, we explored personal and collective challenges, and many of us found strength in sharing stories that had been hidden inside for years.
It was incredibly powerful to see how theatre could become a safe space for self-expression and transformation. We realized that we’re not alone in our struggles and that vulnerability can be a source of connection and strength.
We got to know each other on a much deeper level than in most projects – building trust, empathy, and a real sense of community. It felt like time slowed down for a while, allowing us to reflect not only on ourselves but also on the world around us.
I truly believe that this programme helped each of us grow – emotionally, creatively, and as human beings. It’s an experience I will carry with me for a long time, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
We also had the opportunity to explore other cultures, exchange ideas and values, and taste delicious traditional meals from all the participating countries. These moments of cultural sharing were full of joy, laughter, and connection – adding even more richness to the overall experience.
The project created a unique and supportive environment that encouraged open communication, collaboration, and self-reflection. It highlighted the importance of human connection and demonstrated the value of international cooperation in addressing both personal and social challenges. The overall atmosphere was constructive and respectful, which contributed to a meaningful and enriching group experience.
