Project report:
The Erasmus+ training course “Partner UP” took place in the lovely town of Samobor, located just outside Croatia’s capital, Zagreb. The project brought together participants from Turkey, the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia, all of whom shared a common goal: to deepen their understanding of the Erasmus+ programme and to build strong international partnerships for future collaboration. The main aim of the project was to provide participants with a practical, hands-on introduction to the process of creating and managing Erasmus+ projects. Through detailed step-by-step guidance, we learned how to identify funding opportunities, formulate project ideas, and complete the necessary documentation—from application forms to budget planning. The sessions focused on the technical and strategic elements of project writing, but also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and peer learning. By the end of the project, participants had gained a clear understanding of how to design successful Erasmus+ proposals. This objective was fully achieved. The programme was facilitated by Andreja, an experienced youth worker and trainer from Croatia, whose deep understanding of the Erasmus+ framework and her ability to communicate it clearly and passionately made the learning process not only effective but also genuinely inspiring. Her professional yet approachable facilitation style created a safe learning environment in which everyone felt supported and engaged.
Our stay in Samobor was made even more memorable thanks to the accommodation in a small, family-run hostel, where we were warmly welcomed and well taken care of. One of the highlights of the experience was the delicious home-cooked meals prepared by “Grandma Gabi”, a kind and attentive Croatian host who ensured we were always well-fed and comfortable. Her hospitality contributed significantly to the warm, family-like atmosphere of the project. During our free time, we had the opportunity to explore the surroundings of Samobor, known for its nature trails and traditional architecture. As a special treat, we also visited the Croatian coastline, where we enjoyed the sea, sunshine, and local culture—an unforgettable group outing that strengthened our bonds and left lasting memories.
In conclusion, “Partner UP” was enriching experience that combined practical training and genuine human connection. It succeeded not only in building the skills and confidence needed to navigate Erasmus+ projects but also in creating a sense of community among participants. Many of us left the project with concrete plans for future cooperation and a renewed motivation to bring international projects to life in our own local contexts.
