The project Wellness Knights took place in Gangi, tiny town in the heart of Sicily, in days 4. – 11. 5. 2015. There was 6 national groups of participants in the project – Latvian, Czech, Slovak, French, Spanish, Romanian and also organizers from Sicily, Brazil or Spain, altogether around 36 people.
Since the focus of the project is revolving around health, we were here in Gangi to share our thoughts and ideas about healthy lifestyle, to compare our personal habits or to learn about healthy diet. We had an opportunity to try traditional sport activities and dances of each country as well as their food and drink.
We wandered the streets and recognised also Sicilian culture. We spent a day in a medieval town of Cefalu on the coast of the island, where we could swim in the sea as well as to go sightseeing.
To sum up, we gained a lot of knowledge about diet and active lifestyle thanks to non-formal education, created new friendships and destroyed lots of stereotypes and prejudice in us. It was a fantastic week.
