Project report:
The training course Explore to Learn took place in Romania from 10th to 18th July 2026, bringing together three youth workers from each participating country: the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Latvia.
The project began with ice-breaking activities that quickly turned us into a cohesive team. We learned and practiced methodologies centered on cooperation and inclusion before preparing for the highlight of the course: a three-day mountain expedition. Navigating trails, cooking together, and setting up camp shelters allowed us to put our teamwork directly into practice. Towards the end, participants designed their own educational workshops, receiving valuable feedback to fine-tune their ideas for future youth work.
From an organizational standpoint, the project was flawless. The trainers were friendly and clear, and the venue was perfect—equipped with a ropes course, two yurts, a campfire spot, and plenty of gathering spaces that fostered a great learning environment.
Throughout the course, we gained essential practical skills, including compass navigation and bear safety protocols. More importantly, we walked away with a rich toolkit of interactive games and teaching methodologies to enhance our work with young people back home.
To sum it up, Explore to Learn was a fantastic project that surpassed its goals, leaving us with useful professional skills, lasting memories, and strong international friendships.
