Romania, Romania, Romania. The country with lots of prejudices. This project was one of that experience which could destroy or strengthen prejudices about Romania. While we were traveling across Bucharest, no one was smiling in train station. People looked pretty depressed. You could see lower life standard there. After few hours, we finally arrived in Busteni (2 hours away by train from Bucharest) and my prejudices were destroyed. Not because of luxurious accommodation or high standard of lifestyle in Busteni, but because of the mindset of organizers – Romanians. Taxis were waiting for us in front of train station and dinner was waiting for us too. Everything was well prepared and organized. Moreover, I didn’t have any problem in communication with organizers before my departure.
From the first common dinner with my new friends from 16 countries I felt that these people will be interesting. We played many different games together, from name games to games which helped us understand risks which can occur during youth projects. Risk management was also the main topic of the project. Furthermore, we had opportunity to speak about youth projects with experienced people from different countries. It was truly outstanding experience. Beside that experiences, we played different teambuilding games, which created great spirit in the group. We visited dracula castle, tasted national cousine and danced national dances. In the end, everyone was so sad that the project is in its end.
To sum it up, thanks to EYCB we had opportunity to travel abroad and we could experience such a great project. Thanks a lot to people from EYCB and organizers and leaders in Romania, especially Tolea and Bogdan.
