Project report:
It was early in the morning on the 1st of February. Our Czech group (consisting of students Terka, Mariana and František) set on their journey to Manastirea Humorului to the north part of Romania for the project with topic My Own Values. After long journey we finally met other participants from Romania, Armenia, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Poland and Turkey. Organizers prepared icebreaking activities so that we knew other participants, became friends and understood cultural differences. Our Czech group realized that Czech and Polish people share the same sense of humour. The day of our arrival back to the Czech Republic was 10th of February.
Our host NGO organization ARVIS was represented by three trainers and external helpers. Here I must emphasise that Anca, Ieronim, Raluca and Miruna are nice persons. They enchanted us with friendly approach, willingness to help and heartiness. For example, they managed to bring birthday cake for celebrating participants.
The main goal of the project was to gain in-depth knowledge of value issue, increase our working skills with young people and develop proactive attitude towards the values issue. Every day we had some part of the day organized. Luckily the organized activities were entertaining and well-prepared. Our trainers based the program on non-formal education methods such as forum play, cafe learning, team work and opened discussions. We worked on brochure, movie and blog about the topic too. I have a feeling that the project helped me to realize, why are values important and make me more think about my own value system.
Most of the activities were indoor activities in our meeting room. However, we have got an opportunity to explore fabulous surroundings. We marvelled at well-preserved Voronet Monastery from 15th century and shopped for local souvenirs. Furthermore, we went for an adventurous trip to snowy Carpathians mountains.
Our time in the project was flying so fast! We didn’t want to believe that the project is over. To sum up I would say that we all enjoyed our time in Romania and receive valuable knowledge about the topic. Personally I will really miss new friends from all around the Europe, enjoying tasty local meal together, scene programs, stunning views from our room, café learning and intercultural nights.
I would like to extend our warmest thanks to EYCB and ARVIS for fascinating days in Romania. Some of Czech participants has already signed up for another Erasmus+ project with EYCB, others are thinking about it. There is no doubt that EYCB is perfect place for you to take part in Erasmus+ projects.
