Bee Active — Portugal

Six days with amazing people. In beautiful peaks above Vale de Cambra surrounded by splendid Portuguese nature. The main aim of the project was to raise awareness about nature and its protection and to gain new perspective on inclusion and social participation of young people. We did many excursions related with the main topics. We visited Red cross, and met there amazing workers and volunteers, biological farm, where we saw how inclusion works in practice – workers were people with disabilities, pedagogical farm where are children learning how to take care about animals and how to live with nature. Some of us also rode horses and caressed goats, sheep and many other animals which lived there. One day we did hike to nearby Vale de Cambra, which ended nearby a river where we swam and played a lot of fun games. We also did some work with recycled materials, so that we could bring some small presents from this exchange. The most interesting and specific activity was seeing the bees, which was really unique experience. Group leaders could came really close to them with special suit, while streaming to others. This experience was ended with honey tasting. The six days ran away really fast and too quickly we had to say goodbye to Andreia and wonderful community of Red Cross Sanguedo. These people and six days will always stay in our minds as a reminder how big impact can actively approach of people have in life of others.
