Project report:

When our Czech team finally arrived at the train station in Bușteni, Romania, we were all speechless. The city was outstanding, surrounded by towering mountains and deep forests. And this was just the beginning.

The project started 23rd of June and ended 2nd of July 2024 and took place in the Romanian mountains. Our Czech team was made up of 4 enthusiastic young girls who were ready to learn and contribute. At first, it was not easy to remember all 34 names (some of them were especially hard), but after some time we all knew each other like our old friends.

The main focus of this project was the climate change. Our amazing organizers – Tolea, Fabi, and Bogdan, prepared very diverse and fulfilling workshops that helped us deepen our knowledge and get to know each other better. We discussed the environmental challenges faced by every single country, we identified common issues and worked together to propose solutions.

The best part about this project was the intercultural nights when each participant had a chance to represent their culture. We didn’t hesitate to buy Czech beers, bring the Czech flag, and to prepare “chlebíčky”. Moreover, each country demonstrated its national dances, so the night turned into very vibrant exchange. In addition, we experienced a special Romanian cultural night where we enjoyed traditional Romanian food cooked from the open fire and sang Romanian songs late until the night. It was so much fun!

To sum this project up, this was an experience I will never forget. It’s so sad knowing this is just a memory now. None of this would have happened if my friend hadn’t told me about EYCB. Thank you so much for making this a reality and for creating an unforgettable memory that will stay with all of us!
