Project report:

The land full of mountains, beautiful nature, smiling people, sea, and great food hosted the Hack the System program in Plovdiv. All participants arrived on the 3rd of March, and we had dinner together. The training days were from March 4th to 11th. There were 26 participants from 12 countries, including two participants from Bulgaria.

The whole program started even before arriving in Bulgaria. Tisho from the Smokinya Foundation was communicating with all participants beforehand and sent us a few tasks to prepare for the training to the fullest. Using the word “training” is very important in this case, because this Erasmus was something really special to all of us.

Imagine a place where you can ask yourself as many questions as you want, where you can learn dozens of communication styles, where you can try and fail, where you can bond and grow. A place where you can change your perspective on what you are experiencing in your life and actually take specific steps to make your communication and behavior better.

Hack the System was a training course about exploring systems in our lives — how we see them, how we communicate with them, and which words we use. It was full of coaching methods and opportunities to get to know not only the people around us but, most importantly, ourselves. From morning to evening, we had a program focused on non-formal learning, communication hacks, movement exercises to connect with our bodies, small group projects, and even a little TED Talk-style presentation.

What I really appreciate about the training is the fact that we were truly challenged to work, improve, and try something new. Sharing specific activities would ruin a bit of the whole experience because the main point was also the approach — we didn’t know the full program beforehand. It motivated us to stay curious.

Thank you, EYCB and Smokinya Foundation, for creating this incredible opportunity and organizing such a great training course. See you soon in Plovdiv for the next ones!
