Project report:

Ciao from Italy! My Czech group of five and I spent a marvelous week (24.4.-1.5.2024) in the small town of Giovinazzo in the south of Italy. The place was beautiful, and the local people were super friendly to us, even though they are not used to foreigners. The topic of this Erasmus+ project was “Inclusion through Art,” and each group prepared its own activity connected to this topic. The purpose of the project was to raise awareness among young people about inclusivity. There were youngsters from four different countries: Italy, Czechia, Spain, and Norway. Not only were we able to explore our cultural differences and similarities, but we also discovered different approaches to the topic of inclusion.

During this project, most of the activities were dedicated to the main topic. We learned how to behave correctly in specific situations, recognized our privileges, and discussed how we can help people with fewer opportunities. We gained insight into how people with disabilities feel and realized the importance of empathy and cooperation.

Additionally, each country prepared an intercultural event where they presented their own country. Italian culture accompanied us throughout the whole week. We explored the surrounding cities, learned about their history, played board games with locals (in a special place where they employ people with fewer opportunities), learned how to make pasta and tiramisu, and sampled plenty of amazing Italian cuisine.

All the participants got along really well and enjoyed the project to the fullest. Everyone was active and energetic, creating an unbelievable vibe within the group. The participants were aged 15-17, and I can say for sure that it was a great example of teens who will make our world an amazing place one day!

Thank you, EYCB and INCO Molfetta, for this incredible opportunity!
