Project report:

How to spend a wonderful pre-Christmas time? Going to fairy, windy Denmark was a choice for me, Petra, Filip and Barbora. We took a part in Mentoring for Employability mobility of youth workers which was held in Slettestrand in the north of Denmark. There were people form Denmark, Hungary, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Turkey.

Mentoring for Employability was a 9-day Training Course aimed at increasing young people’s participation in the labour market by improving youth workers and youth organizations’ capacities in mentoring young people for employability. We got a theoretical background for mentoring. We defined roles and qualities of mentor. There were mentioned things that mentor should avoid and we also discussed unemployment.

Every night was voluntary interesting program like games, movies, danish Christmas game, bonfire in the forest, water marbel coloring, jiu jitsu workshop or we just spent our free nights at the beach watching the full moon and listening to the sound of sea. We had one intercultural night and we cognized new cultures trough dancing Turkish dance, trying traditional food and sweets or playing quiz about other countries. We had free late afternoons which we loved to spent in swimming pool and sauna. We also had one free afternoon in the city of Aalborg. And on the departure day I was hanging around in beautiful city of Copenhagen.

We all found new friendships and expanded our perspectives in professional as well as in personal life. We learnt a lot about being mentor, we gained communication and social skills and we also explored ourselves.

I am very grateful to EYCB for sending me and my Czech comrades at this wonderful project and thanks to all organizators and trainers in Denmark.
