Project report:

Youth exchange, aptly named MY FRIENDSHIP WITH THE PLANET, took place within days 11.8.-22.8. 2022 in the third biggest city Łódź. Together with 30 people from Turkey, Cyprus, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic, we were participating in an environment-based project.

With flawless organisation from the facilitators Iwona and Margarita, we had every day different teachers, who were usually experts in their field. These variations resulted in a smoothly running program throughout the whole two weeks.

We had an opportunity to visit water treatment sewage plants, which were quite stinking but still impressive for everyone. Another trip was to a typical green botanical garden, which our western participants saw for the first time, to our surprise. Last whole-day trip was to the open-air museum, where a historical event was currently taking place.

Apart from the trips, we learned a lot about environmental protection in classes. We got familiar with the situations in other participating countries. We created our own popular-science website with many articles about eco-friendly lifestyle.

We were accommodated in a luxury hotel with even luxurious breakfasts, the lunches were Polish dishes provided by delivery service and dinners were in restaurants in the city centre. Every day, after the end of the program, we set out to discover the beauty of Lodz on our own. We were playing beach volleyball in front of the biggest shopping mall Manufaktura, playing basketball with Ukrainian refugees, visiting an open-air cinema, and enjoying big city life.

On behalf of the Czech team, I would like to thank EYCB for providing such an experience for us, we enjoyed it a lot!
