Project report:

From the 6th to the 14th of July, I had the incredible opportunity to be part of a training course in Samobor, Croatia, focused on team building and group dynamics in youth work. Alongside participants from Croatia, Turkey, Serbia, Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria, and Romania, our small Czech team dove deep into how strong teams are formed, how they grow, and how to handle the bumps along the road.

The core aim of the project was to equip youth workers and youth leaders with practical tools and knowledge to create and maintain inclusive, supportive, and high-performing teams. We tackled essential topics like group development stages, intercultural understanding, conflict prevention, and effective communication. Everything was delivered through non-formal education methods such as workshops, simulations, games, and reflection circles after each activity session.

Throughout the week, we explored how different personalities and team roles influence group dynamics. We learned how to actively listen, give constructive feedback, and resolve conflicts without DRAMA!!

The experience was not only about learning but also about connecting. We had enough free time to explore the charming town of Samobor, try local Kremschnita, and even visit Zagreb. Informal moments, whether over coffee, during city walks, or late-night conversations, helped us build friendships and understand each other’s cultures more deeply.

To sum it up, the training gave us practical skills, useful methods, and new perspectives for working with teams. We’re leaving better prepared for future projects and cooperation. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate, for the open-hearted people I met, and for the valuable skills and insights I now carry with me into future projects.
