Project report

“Merhaba, nasilsin?” This is maybe the first phrase you hear when you visit a beautiful country straddling the continents of Europe and Asia. The sunny country which smells of oriental spices, which has very interesting history and which is one of the world’s top 10 travel destinations,  is friendly and culturally rich. Yes, this is Turkey! And yes, this is the place where the project “We Say No 2 Violence” took place. There were four countries: Italy, Czech Republic, Romania and Turkey. Six participants of each country took pleasure in spending one week (15-21 May) in Aksaray, Cappadocia.

The week was full of interesting workshops and discussions but also of outdoor activities and excursion tours. What did we do?  We apply our minds to questions like: What is Violence? What are the reasons of Violence? We saw Turkey’s school and came into contact with pupils. Trekking in Ihlara Valley and talking to the other tourists in the Valley about the Violence was too very nice, because we joined work with outdoor activity. But this is not all!

There were intercultural nights every evening. Turkey was the first to present its culture and typical food, than Czech, Italy and Romania. Every evening were special. Do you think it is enough? The best thing of the project comes now. CAPPADOCIA TOUR! I cannot describe my feelings when I saw it for the first time… maybe: gorgeous, magnificent, perfect? No, you have to see these underground cities. They are so elaborated, sophisticated… Unforgettable view! We had an unique opportunity to be guests at a typical turkey’s wedding and be part of  “The Bride’s Henna Ritual”.

I want to thank Kerem for interesting project and for his patience with us. I would like to thank to my Czech group, because you were (and you still are  🙂 ) the best in the world and last but not least to EYCB, because without you I would have never met so amazing people!

PS girls: Ben bir keçi yakalamak istiyorum.
