Project report:

On 19.3.2017 i packed my small backpack to begin my journey to Velden am Wörthersee in Austria, where training course „Youth are the voice“ took place on 20.3.2017. This training brought together 31 participants from Austria, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Cyprus, Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Portugal and Sweden to discuss, to learn and to gain new competencies and skills in the field of social medias, campaign building, websites (CMS – WordPress, SEO) and overall about how to effectively attract people to our posts on our social medias and websites by using various techniques. Our trainers were Marco Santos from Brazil and Lorenzo Nava from Italy, both of the trainers were very experienced, they both coached at more than 100 projects already. We were hosted by Austrian NGO Verein Gemma.

We started the project by getting to know each other, we did various activities as well as couple of ice breakers and energizers. Later on we introduced ourselves and our professional background to the others. In the upcoming days we slowly started to work on the topic of the training which was social media and the creation of campaigns. We learned about how the discipline of public speaking and persuasion was borned in anciend Greece and Roman empire. We learned how to gain attention of the wide public by targeting their mind, heart and personalities. We learned how to apply this knowledge in the nowadays world of social medias and we got our task, to promote the USA movement from 60ties „FreedomRiders“ that was fighting the segregation of black and white skinned people in the public transport in the southern states of USA. To achieve this task we worked in small international groups. In the end we made a movie and photostory of black and white photographies that we  showed to the others as well as to the trainers who gave us their valuable feedback.

Although we were working pretty hard to reach the projects objectives and to learn and acquite new skills and compentencies we also had some time to relax and to enjoy ourselves. Our hostel was located just next to the lake with a view on the mountains, it was amazing to just to lay down on the grass and sunbath next to this beautiful scenery. At night we enjoyed various activities starting from the intercultural night where we could present our country to the others and in the same time to learn more about the countries of the otherparticipants, movie night when we could watch the movie of our choice or my favourite evening activity which was playing water polo with the others in the hostels swimming pool. One day organizers also planned a trip for us to Klagenfurt which is the capital of the Carinthia region in Austria, we visited a local radio station, where they showed us their social media techniques which they use to communicate with their listeners.

The training course was very succesful thanks to the organizers , trainers and the participants. We gained many valuable skills and competencies that we will use later in our professional lives.
