Project report:

Thanks to Czech non-profit organization EYCB Břeclav two czech participants went to Portugal.

The European project under Erasmus + took place in Rio Maior from 17th till 25th of June. Our Czech team consisted of 2 people: me and Tomáš. There were also people from 8 other countries: Portugal, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, France, Latvia and Estonia. Each country had 2 or 3 participants who represented their own country. Our training course was about exploring the renewed EU Youth Strategy “Engaging, Connecting and Empowering young people” and inventing tools and creating local and European youth projects based on its youth goals for the sake of young people with fewer opportunities. Educational seminars took place in a special educational building in the city, only a few minutes from our 2-star hotel.

The seminars and activities were focused mainly on 11 european goals like Sustainable Green Europe, Quality learning or Moving Rural Youth Forward. We were learning theories, methods, tools and best practices how to help to European youth and Europe in general. We also did “Open Space Methodology” which means that each of us created a presentation or a discussion about one of the 11 european goals. Then we shared our ideas and thoughts.

The theme was very interesting but the instructors were not able to make it that entertaining for the participants. Also, the food for vegans was not the best. The organizators sometimes looked like they did not know what is the difference between a vegetarian diet and a vegan one. Neverthless, the preparation from the organization was overall satisfying. We had a trip to Lisbon and to a small village where is the seat of the portuguese organization.

In our free time, we walked around the city and talked a lot! I think it was a great group of people and I hope we will meet again in the future.
