Project report:
Hello everyone,
I spent the last couple of days on an amazing project called With your body in a beautiful part of south France.
We were a small group of 12 people (Cyprus, Italy, Estonia, France, Macedonia and Czechia) of different ages, different backgrounds and different experiences. Nevertheless we became closehad a really good time creating loads of little projects together.
Thanks to Julia and Yann, our organizers, the atmosphere during the whole project was really relaxed. Every evening we talked about the day’s program, our feelings and thoughts, which really helped the group to understand others.
We would spend our days having contemporary dance and theatre workshops. With Angelique, our incredible dance lecturer, we focused on contact and connection between mind and body, ourselves and the space, ourselves and the others.
The theatre classes on the other hand were more about learning how to use our bodies as a tool for expression.
As a result of the workshops we were asked to create an activity for children using the methods we learned. We all loved it and the children were just adorable!
Moreover Julia and Yann took us to some local events like choir performance and music+theatre street performance that were really cool to see to learn more about south French local culture. Plus we had a chance to visit a circus acrobatic performance which was a perfect example of what humans can do with their body.
Throughout the project we got deeper in understanding our bodies. We learnt to listen to the body of others and to find a good way of interacting with them. I am thankful I had the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing project.
Thanks to everyone who made this project possible!
