Project report:
Hello everyone! It was my pleasure to travel on my fourth project to Portugal with five other Czech participants Lukáš, Klára, Petra, Tereza and David on the 13th of June 2022. The whole team was very excited about this project on the topic of Intercultural Marriages that ended on the 20th of June. There were five participating countries in total: Czechia, Macedonia, Turkey, Latvia and Portugal which was the hosting country.
I need to send a big THANK YOU to the organization of this project, because they tried their best to be as helpful as possible and they tried to make our stay there the best experience. I remember them asking every moment if everything is okay, which started to be quite funny too, but in a good way!
The activities and programme were very nice too! We discovered a lot about the topic of intercultural marriages, where we could see traditional marriages from all around the world and we had a chance to make one intercultural marriage, where we combined all the traditions into one big wedding. Also the activities and group ice breakers have been amazing! From the first day it was obvious that people were a good bunch and that we could start socializing very soon.
Every day I had a lot of fun and I don’t remember when I would be bored. We also visited places around the location of the project and learned alot about Portugal too, so I must say I came back with nice new information and experience I never had before.
I also must say that intercultural nights were also as good as on other projects. Again we tasted some new foods and drinks from other participant countries.
In the end I must say that all the participants from our group enjoyed this project and had a very good time in Portugal! We tried our best to represent Czechia as best as possible, in which we succeeded. I wouldn’t hesitate to go on a project like this again!
At the very end I also must thank our amazing organization that made this experience possible! EYCB is trying their best to make these projects work and it helps young people like me to have a opportunity to go abroad even as a student and meet new people from different countries in person.
