iCARE 2 — Romania

I would like to take this opportunity to share our incredible experience during the iCare Erasmus project, which took place in the beautiful town of Vatra Dornei, Romania. The project brought together participants from Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal, and the Czech Republic, allowing us to immerse ourselves in each other’s cultures and explore the captivating theme of cultural heritage.

Throughout the project, we had the privilege of discovering and celebrating the diverse cultural backgrounds represented by our international team. We embarked on a fascinating journey, learning about the historical significance, traditions, and customs that define each nation’s unique identity. Our interactions were filled with enthusiasm, mutual respect, and a genuine desire to embrace and understand our shared heritage.

One of the highlights of the project was the opportunity to explore the cultural heritage of Vatra Dornei itself. The town, nestled in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains, offered us a glimpse into Romania’s rich history. We visited historical sites, museums, and landmarks that showcased the country’s architectural marvels, traditional craftsmanship, and artistic expressions. From churches to traditional folk art, every aspect of Romania’s cultural heritage left us appreciative. We also had a chance to visit nearby mountains.

Additionally, we organized workshops and presentations where each participating country had the chance to showcase their cultural heritage. The Polish delegation introduced us to their vibrant folklore and traditional dances, while the Romanians shared their captivating folk music and rituals. The Bulgarians, Portuguese, and Czechs also left a lasting impression with their unique customs, traditional cuisine, and folk tales, illustrating the diverse tapestry of European cultural heritage.

The iCare Erasmus project not only fostered cultural understanding and appreciation but also created lasting bonds of friendship and camaraderie among the participants. Through open discussions, collaborative activities, and cultural exchange, we were able to break down barriers and build bridges between our nations.

We are grateful to the organizers, the host country Romania, and each participating nation for their immense efforts in making this project a resounding success. The iCare Erasmus experience in Vatra Dornei will forever remain a cherished memory in our hearts, reminding us of the importance of preserving and celebrating our shared cultural heritage.

We look forward to future collaborations and the opportunity to continue promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding.
