Project report:

Greetings from Romania! My recent journey to  Căsoaia for the Thematic Awareness Training – Peers for Diversity was an enriching and unforgettable experience. From the 1st of August to the 10th of August, I joined a diverse group of participants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Greece, Lithuania, Hungary,  and Spain, all united by a common goal: to explore and promote the values of diversity, interculturalism, and anti-discrimination.

The training was designed specifically for youth workers and trainers, equipping us with both theoretical insights and practical strategies to address these important social issues in our work. The peer education methodology was central to the course, encouraging us to learn from one another’s experiences and perspectives. This approach not only fostered a deep understanding of the topics but also strengthened the bonds between participants from different cultural backgrounds.

Under the guidance of our exceptional leader, Andrej, we engaged in a variety of activities that challenged us to think critically about the challenges of diversity and discrimination in our respective countries. Through group discussions, workshops, and collaborative projects, we explored solutions that could be adapted and implemented in our communities. The focus was always on practical application, ensuring that the knowledge we gained would be directly useful in our future work.

Beyond the formal training sessions, the experience was enriched by the vibrant Romanian culture. Căsoaia itself provided the perfect backdrop for our training.

As the week came to a close, it was clear that this training was more than just a learning experience; it was a transformative journey. The cooperation between participants from different countries highlighted the universality of the issues we were addressing and the power of collective action.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the training was the hands-on projects we completed.

Now that the training is over, we return to our home countries with a renewed sense of purpose and a toolkit of ideas and strategies to implement. The lessons we learned, the connections we made, and the experiences we shared have prepared us to make a real difference in our communities. Whether through education, creative projects, or simply spreading awareness, we are empowered to take action and contribute to a more inclusive world. The journey continues, and the future is in our hands.
