Project report:

In the following article, I will discuss the “REGENERACTION: Youth, Creativity and Sustainable Futures” seminar, which took place from May 8–14, 2026, at the very southern tip of Italy’s “boot” and was notable not only for its location but also for its focus. And, of course, the excellent food. Welcome to Italy!

A total of 11 people from Serbia, the Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, France, and other European countries participated in the seminar in the small Italian village of Presicce-Acquarica. Right from the start, we were welcomed by the friendly and energetic organizers Salvi, Maria, Sarah, and Natalia, who formed one big, well-coordinated team and guided us through the entire week together. We were in for seven sunny days together in a beautiful setting with a pool and garden, which allowed us to spend most of the day and our educational activities outdoors in the open air.

Each day began with a group breakfast and a short warm-up to foster team spirit, followed by discussions on environmental topics, presentations by the organizations the participants work for, brainstorming of new ideas for potential projects, and the exchange of know-how and experiences. Away from our everyday routines, we were able to reignite our creativity, giving rise to new ideas and interesting collaborations. The program was intense, which is why I also appreciated the ample free time, including a typical Italian siesta and one day off, during which we organized a trip to the nearby town of Santa Maria di Leuca and went swimming in the sea.

Overall, I would rate the seminar as well-organized and beneficial. Since this was my first “Erasmus” short-term trip, I didn’t know what to expect. The seminar was clearly more focused on joint discussion of topics related to sustainability within a European framework, activism, and working with young people in organizations than on practical skills. For those who lack experience in discussion or are more introverted, this event will be a step out of their comfort zone, offering valuable practice. Not only will you practice your English, but above all, you’ll have a unique opportunity to meet interesting people and get to know yourself better. And that’s not just another item on your resume – it’s an invaluable experience!
