Project description:

LET’S BREAK THE BREAKING NEWS” is a training course that will take place in Romania between 1-10 february 2023 with 34 participants and 3 experts

The aim of the project is to provide to youth workers new methods and tools to develop critical thinking and prevent fake news

Objectives:

  1. Increasing youth workers competences to understand and apply critical thinking in daily work
  2. developing competences for youth workers in prevention and combating fake news and electronic violence
  3. providing and promoting new tools for youth workers to stimulate youngsters responsibility in spoting and spreading fake news

The methodology is based on nonformal education methods including presentations, world café, role play, forum theater, debate, etc. The project activities will be preparation, introduction, geting to know eachother, workshops in plennary and teams, outdoor activities, intercultural evenings, visits, reflection and evaluation according to agenda.

Final products expected: Forum Theater plays and a collection of tools and methods to be applied in daily work to prevent and block spreading fake news.

Participants’ profile:

  • 34 participants from 11 countries plus 3 experts
  • Age: 20+ (no upper age limit, two participants per country)
  • Yothworkers, project coordinators, youngsters active in field of youth
  • good English level obligatory; gender balance recommended, but not obligatory
