Project report:

It was pleasure to be part of project with focus on Sports. Participants were from 8 following countries: Cyprus, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Czechia, Belgium, Armenia and Italy. The official name of project: „Education through Sports – Training of youth workers on Sports as a tool for Social Inclusion“

We as a group of 24 volunteers defined some terms like youth worker, leader, education through sports and more. I liked the case studies that we did on the start of project. We had to think about working with the refugees and do an inclusion with them. We acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to design and implement inclusive sports activities for marginalized groups such as migrants, and socially excluded individuals. We learned strategies for creating welcoming and supportive environments that foster participation and engagement among diverse populations.

During one activity, we could realize, that some fundings are done by political parties and in this case we can ask to exclude political campaign from it. There are culture differencies and communication barriers between us, and we tested it by plaing the “bridge game”. Also we tried to test it more during activity with leading the „blind“ friend to collect a puzzle.

Usefull will be that we are now equipped with the tools and methods to integrate sports-based education into youth work practices. We understand how utilizing sports as an educational tool can enhance wellbeing outcomes. It contributes to long-term goals of social inclusion and solidarity among youth.

We were set to role of youth workers and developed key competencies essential for personal and professional growth. Through the training, we gained skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and adaptability. Our roles can make now a difference in our communities.

In last part of project, we personally tried to bring some activities, tested them on playground and then we modified them (or recreated). In last days, we visited a school to do it with children. It gave many new experiences and knowledge.

As a disseminitation activity, we have some ideas. One of them will be implemented during May 2024 or next months. Results will be reported to hosting organisation NECI EU. For the project itself, it was pleasure to be a part of this and we are looking forward for more great experiences with EYCB.
