Project report:
Hey folks! Our Erasmus training in Bratislava was a blast, focusing on sustainability and climate change. A little bit strange project for me, because I travelled to my native country as a representative of the Czech Republic. There were five people from each country: the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary, Romania, Italy, Lithuania.
The beginnings of the project were difficult as always, to get on the same wave with others, brush up my English and get out of the comfort zone a little. But I am grateful for the organizers, for their great activities and the other participants, for their valuable experiences and advices. I found out a lot of things that I didn’t know about until now, for example…
“Over the course of a year, a person’s average email usage varies between 3 to 40kgs CO2e, which is the equivalent of driving between 10 and 128 miles in a small petrol car. ”
I liked that the organizers, Radka and Inka were very educated and interested in the topic. At the end of the project, we had the task of developing a small campaign on the topic of this project. One group created an educational video where people from the street were asked what they think about climate change. Another made the educational materials for children. Our campaign was a survey of our group , we wanted to show how we really are, what we know, and then inform others about results.
Bratislava is beautiful city, I really liked the night tour of the centre with a guide, the excursion to KOLO – Bratislava reuse centre in Ružinov, where I heard about this concept for the first time and, sure, a little hike to Devin.
Overall, after the project, I realized that I must spread more awareness about these problems among my loved ones and improve my relationship with the environment.
I want to say that it was a great week, where I learned a lot. I think I made new friends, also from other countries, whose I am going to visit as soon as possible (hopefully).
