Project report:

Merhaba from Turkey. Welcome to the world full of black tea, amazing sweets, kind people and lovely weather. The training took place in Marmaris, Turkey from 09 to 17 April and brought together 30 young people from 8 different countries and people from 13 different institutions and NGO. The project was supported by the Turkish National Agency in the Erasmus + Program, a program of the European Commission.

Non-formal and informal learning methods were used throughout the project. The working language was English and the sessions were focused on sharing experiences between participants. The youth workers, who were trained under the project, have improved their professional, personal and social skills, expanded their work with young people and enabled the inclusion and participation of young people who have not previously benefited from European youth opportunities.
Activities that we did during the project:

  • Provide new employees with the knowledge and skills they need when working with people with disabilities,
  • Collaborate with organizations working with people with disabilities and disadvantaged individuals
  • We learned about formal, non-formal and informal education
  • Presented information about ours sending organizations
  • Create strategies to increase the adaptation of people with disabilities to social life

At the end of the training sessions, through the division into working groups, the youth workers finally produced 5 different inclusive activity plans and 5 different project proposals to be presented to the European Commission.

During the program, the young operators also had the opportunity to visit the International Youth Center in the city of Muğla, one of the three most important in the country, received by the women and children who attend the center, by Dr. Oktay Tavas and the Mayor of the city, Bahattin Gümüş, to then dance together with the disabled children of the Muğla Engelliler Derneği association , in the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity and inclusiveness, characterizing the entire project.

As to the summary, it was the best experience and project at all. We all met such a nice people from different countries. I am super glad that had a chance to took this amazing experince. I am super thankful to EYCB for them works and opportunities that they’re giving to young people.
