Project report:

The Paths of Learning training course, which took place from 6 to 12 November, focused on outdoor education. Its aim was to share knowledge and experience in this field among the participants and to enrich each other with proven and tested information.

A total of 27 people from 12 European countries participated in the course. The home organization Desaplatánate provided us with very nice accommodation in the town ofnGuía de Isora. The meals were vegetarian and the cooks deserve a lot of credit for their skills. The daily programme was packed with mostly outdoor activities, where we explored the charms of Tenerife and learned new ways to lead and organise outdoor activities.

The organizers took us not only to the beaches with black volcanic sand, but also to a rare pine forest, the Teide National Park and the misty laurel forest. Each location had a specific outdoor activity associated with it.

The output of this course was newly designed outdoor activities that we worked on in teams of five. These activities will be posted for everyone on the Desaplatanate homepage. What I take away from the Paths of Learning course is a wealth of experiences, new friendships, and tips and tricks for organizing outdoor education.
