Project info:
In Europe, we currently use 16 tonnes of material per person per year, of which 6 tonnes become waste. Although the management of that waste continues to improve in the EU, the European economy currently still loses a significant amount of potential ‘secondary raw materials’ such as metals, wood, glass, paper, plastics present waste streams. In 2010, total waste production in the EU amounted to 2,5 billion tons. From this total only a limited (albeit increasing) share (36%) was recycled, with the rest was landfilled or burned, of which some 600 million tons could be recycled or reused.
Project report:
Our project „Recycle art“ took place in a cute small village Sasso di Castalda with its 600 inhabitants. We spent 8 woderful days which will be hard to ever forget about!
Our Czech group already met in Prague airport – three students who didn’t know each other before but become friends in the first moment. We went to Napoli where we spent the whole day sightseeing and walking near the see, then we came back to the airport where we met the rest of participants. Spain, Poland, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia and Czech Republic. It was a perfect mixture of intelligent, creative and inspirative people.
The other day we started our activities – getting to know each other, getting some knowledge about recycling, and what is the most important, getting to know ourselves. Everything was working perfectly, people were amazing and our organizer Gianfranco was the best one. Every single activity had its sense and its aim. I have a feeling that I made a huge step forward to my dreams, to my goals.
I am so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of such a great group of people in a such perfect place. I am glad that I met so many new friends that I am deffinitely gonna see again. Thank you so much for everything!
