Project report:
Project ,,Would you survive?” took place in Selema, Lithuania from 31th July to 9th August, 2023. Group participating in this project consisted of 30 participants from 5 different countries – the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria.
This project was organized by EU Go Association which is a non-governmental organization based in Kaunas, Lithuania that is focusing on promoting psychological practices, acceptance of cultural differences, equality and the exchange of cultural values. Through non-formal education and mobility projects, the organization strives to enhance the communication, relational, emotional, digital, entrepreneurial, survival and leadership skills of young people.
The main objectives of the ,,Would you survive?” project were exploring the current state of emergency preparedness in the participating countries, learning relaxation techniques to effectively manage stress and cope with panic attacks during emergency situations, enhancing essential first aid skills to provide immediate medical assistance in times of crisis and developing practical skills that can significantly increase the chances of survival.
The program of the project was very interesting, entertaining and various at the same time. It combined both outdoor and indoor activities. There were workshops, brainstorming sessions, group discussions, simulations, games, energizers, team building activities and intercultural evenings. We learned how to purify water, start fires, construct temporary shelters, navigate through forests, tie knots, make camouflage nets and pack comprehensive emergency preparedness kits.
There was a canoe day as well.
,,Would you survive?” is a unique project and an amazing opportunity that I would recommend to anyone who likes to live life at its fullest and would love to make some unforgettable memories.
