Project report:

Welcome to Kayseri – the city of great foods, low prices and suprisingly welcoming people. From the 15th of June till the 22nd of June I and four other Czech people had to pleasure to visit this beautiful and vast city thanks to the Unity with Diversity And Tolerance project. There were six other countries: Romania, Lithuania, Croatia, Turkey, Germany and Greece, each of these countries provided 5 participants.

This project was full of thought provoking activities, conversations and discussions. Throughout these activities we got to know each other better, we learned how to cooperate and mainly we had lots of fun. We dealt with the problems like: discrimination, tolerance/acceptance, how to overcome prejudice and that we should first listen and then judge. We also improved our English and public speaking skills, highered our self confidence and self esteem thanks to the presentations of our solutions to given problems.

We also got to experience typical turkish foods like kebap or pilav and we learned that turkish people prefer to have light one dish lunches and heavier two dish dinners. And I cant forget about the sweets – turkish know how to make those.

Considering it all, the project itself was quite chilled and easy going. It was mainly about talking, getting to know each other and also learning how to create your own opinion about different topics. If that is what you are interested in, I advise you to contact EYCB and join one of these projects. You will not regret it!
