Popis projektu:
Green Voices, Loud Choices brings together young people to explore environmental protection, climate change and sustainable lifestyles while strengthening their capacity to participate in democratic life.
The project responds to two interconnected needs: young people’s limited access to reliable environmental information and their weak involvement in the public decisions that shape their communities.
Combining environmental education with public speaking, critical thinking and civic participation, the exchange will prepare participants to act as Eco Ambassadors, young multipliers able to raise awareness, facilitate discussions among peers and initiate small- scale environmental actions in their local communities.
The methodology is fully rooted in non-formal education and, distinctively, in peer-to-peer learning: a significant part of the programme is prepared and delivered by the participants themselves.
Ahead of the exchange, each national group receives the task of designing and facilitating one thematic workshop: such as formal, non-formal and informal education; carbon footprint and the 3R rules; community environmental needs mapping; public speaking and storytelling; the argumentation lab; or the design of environmental awareness campaigns, while all participants complete a common preparatory task of researching and presenting the environmental realities and challenges of their own communities.
This approach ensures that learning flows horizontally between peers rather than only from facilitators, and gives every participant direct, practical experience in workshop facilitation — the core competence of a future Eco Ambassador.
Objectives:
- To increase participants’ knowledge of environmental protection, climate change and sustainable lifestyles.
- To develop critical thinking, argumentation and public speaking skills for discussing environmental issues with reliable information.
- To strengthen understanding of democratic participation through simulations of environmental decision-making.
- To build peer education and facilitation competences through workshops prepared and delivered by participants.
- To encourage youth-led action through awareness campaigns and a GuideBook for follow-up activities in local communities.
