Popis projektu:

UP-EET: Step Up, Stand Out is a transformative training course designed for youth workers, youth leaders, facilitators, and young people eager to play a pivotal role in voluntary activities within international youth mobility programmes such as the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), Volunteers for EU Aid, and other initiatives. The project is built for those who wish to go beyond mere participation—becoming key actors in supporting and evaluating the learning journey of volunteers while empowering young people to unlock their full potential through hands-on experiences and active engagement.
At the core of UP-EET lies the ambition to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to foster an inclusive and impactful learning environment within the volunteering framework. The thematic pillars of this training reflect the fundamental aspects of a volunteer’s learning process, ensuring that the experience extends far beyond its duration and translates into a lifelong commitment to civic engagement and democratic participation.

These key pillars include:

  • Self-determination and self-awareness – Developing a strong sense of personal identity and purpose, enabling volunteers to make conscious choices about their role in society.
  • Acquisition of tools for active participation – Equipping participants with the skills and knowledge to initiate, lead, and contribute to democratic and political processes within their communities.
  • Building personal and professional resources – Strengthening key competencies that foster resilience, adaptability, and long-term employability.
  • Implementation of self-assessment methodologies – Encouraging volunteers and youth workers to reflect on their experiences using a structured framework based on shared values and the contributions of all stakeholders involved in an ESC project.
Having worked extensively as a host organisation and ESC project leader, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of volunteering experiences—not only as a means of personal growth but also as a catalyst for democratic engagement and social change. Volunteers often return to their communities with a renewed sense of agency, leadership, and civic responsibility. In consideration of what described upon, UP-EET is designed to provide youth workers with practical methods, innovative tools, and strategic approaches to guide young volunteers through this powerful journey—ensuring that their experiences translate into long-term engagement and meaningful societal impact.

Main objectives:

  • Develop a transferable, adaptable, and scalable methodology
  • Create a replicable and customizable framework that organisations hosting volunteers can adapt to their specific needs while considering the individual characteristics of their human resources.
  • Empower youth workers and young people to become active agents of democracy:
  • By equipping them with the tools, confidence, and strategic mindset to engage in ESC projects, we foster a culture where young people see themselves as protagonists in shaping the democratic future of their communities.
  • Foster a strong network among youth workers to exchange best practices
  • Strengthen partnerships between youth organisations in Programme and Partner Countries
  • By creating long-lasting collaborations under the Erasmus+ and ESC programme, we aim to enhance cross-border cooperation, amplify impact, and establish a thriving ecosystem for youth engagement and mobility.
The training course will serve as a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and peer learning, allowing youth workers to explore innovative approaches and impactful strategies for engaging young volunteers.

Participants‘ profile:

Youth workers, facilitators, educators or young people, who are actively working with young people on a professional or voluntary basis, involved in ESC programmes aged 18+.
