Popis projektu:
“Step Up” is a non formal education training course dedicated to community organising and the creation of strong grassroots movements. The course is designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones, spark critical thinking, and strengthen their capacity to act and support for actions their local communities .
Participants will learn how to connect with others who share similar values, build collective initiatives, and move beyond conventional organisational hierarchies in favour of more participatory approaches. In line with Erasmus+ priorities, the project contributes to the development of inclusive and cohesive societies where citizens actively participate in democratic processes. It supports the growth of social capital among young people, enhances youth empowerment, and encourages active civic engagement.
Through the framework of Youth Workers Mobility, the initiative strengthens the role of youth workers at both local and European levels, enabling them to become effective community organisers capable of fostering community leadership and sustainable social change.
Objectives:
1) The project aims to develop community organising skills among youth workers across Europe, enabling them to act as community organisers in their own local contexts. Participants will discover how to recognize local needs, exchanging experiences, and encouraging community action, thereby strengthening community power and independence.
2) Second objective is to equip youth workers with practical tools for assessing community needs and applying anthropological observation methods to better understand local challenges that can be addressed through community organising.
3) Additionally, the project seeks to introduce non-violent action strategies that enhance coordination, communication, and mobilization within communities.
