Popis projektu:
We are all natives of the digital world- yet, as with the real world, we do not all have the same competencies when it comes to operating within a digital environment. Sometimes we don’t have the chance or the guidance to develop crucial knowledge, skills and attitudes to thrive in this brave new digital world. Interaction is often limited, and it’s hard to venture out of one’s comfort zone. But our greatest strength is coming together to accomplish wonders.
So this is the goal of this youth exchange: to bring young people together to learn from each other, explore the nature of digital competences and their application across all aspects of our lives, and develop the skills they choose for themselves.
What do we understand as digital competences?
There are four main overlapping areas we can map digital competences on:
- Information: where we handle all kinds of digital information, as well as develop ways to find it and analyse it critically.
- Communication: wherein lies our ability to communicate clearly and effectively through digital means and be part of a digital community.
- Production: where we create digital products, or we use digital tools to create, or both!
- Safety: an oft-overlooked area where we protect our personal data, and we take care of legal and even health matters.
These areas all apply to our personal and professional life, from education and employment to managing our social life, our relationships with other people and making our dreams come true through creation and innovation.
But what matters most is how young people perceive the digital world. How to help them find out where they are strong, and where they can become stronger, increasing their knowledge, developing their skills and discovering more about their attitudes
Who are we looking for?
This youth exchange is dedicated to young people aged 18 to 25, from the European Union countries or countries associated with the EU (Programme Countries). We reserved 15 places
for people with fewer opportunities. Each national group will consist of 4 young people and a youth leader (in total 5). There will be 6 groups and 30 people in total.
Actual digital competences do not matter- this is what we are here to discover together! Participants should be comfortable using English as their working language.
Objectives:
The objectives of this youth exchange are:
- To create a safe, productive environment for young people to explore the concept of digital competences and how they apply to their own lives
- To identify where the participants and young people in general have expansive capabilities and where they need improvement.
- To support the participants in sharing their own knowledge and skills, facilitating their upskilling and attitude changes
- To create content to reach out to other young people and help them do the same asynchronously, based on the topics and preferences that the young people themselves identify.
Don’t forget that you’ll meet young people from different countries, and you will become a part of an international network
