Popis projektu:

This youth exchange in Bitola will directly address pressing issues linked to human rights, the integration of refugees and migrants, and the fight against racism and discrimination. Across Europe, young people and those who work with them face growing challenges in promoting social cohesion, protecting democratic values, and ensuring that youth—especially those from migrant or minority backgrounds—are fully included in society. By creating a safe and dedicated learning space, the exchange will enable participants to explore these topics together, share experiences, and co-create tools and actions that promote human rights and the rule of law, while fostering active participation in democratic life. The project is firmly aligned with the EU Youth Goals and the Erasmus+ priority of strengthening democratic engagement. As follow-up, participants and partner organisations will implement local initiatives, workshops and awareness-raising activities in their communities, using the methods and ideas developed during the exchange to help build more inclusive local environments where migrants and young people from diverse backgrounds feel respected, represented and empowered.

Objectives:

  • Empower Young Participants – Enable young people to explore human rights, anti-racism, and migrant integration through practical tools and non-formal education methods, and to apply these in their daily lives and communities.
  • Promote Democratic Participation – Encourage participants to take an active role in civic life and decisionmaking processes at local, national and European levels, fostering a sense of agency and responsibility.
  • Foster Inclusion of Migrants and Refugees – Support young people, including migrants and refugees, to share their experiences, build mutual understanding, and co-create ideas and actions that promote reception, integration and empowerment.
  • Combat Racism and Discrimination – Equip participants with the knowledge, attitudes and skills to recognise and challenge stereotypes, prejudice and discriminatory practices, using dialogue, reflection and intercultural learning.
  • Build a Sustainable Youth Network – Create a cross-border network of motivated young people who stay connected after the exchange, share good practices and collaborate on follow-up initiatives that promote inclusion and human rights.

Participants‘ profile:

We are looking for participants who will:

  • Engage in interactive workshops on human rights, the rule of law, and democratic participation, gaining tools to integrate these topics into their daily youth work practice.
  • Take part in sessions on refugee and migrant integration, exploring strategies to support newcomers in local communities and exchanging good practices across countries.
  • Contribute to activities addressing racism and discrimination, including role-plays, case studies, and intercultural dialogue exercises designed to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusion.
  • Join practical training modules on facilitation, leadership, teamwork, and resilience, enabling them to guide young people in tackling social challenges in diverse contexts.
  • Share their experiences and challenges as youth workers, reflecting on methods they use in their communities and co-developing innovative approaches together.
  • Participate in cultural exchange activities, discovering diverse perspectives on human rights and integration and building stronger transnational cooperation networks.
