Popis projektu:

The essence of the project:

The Thread That Connects is a transformative journey that reconnects young people with themselves, with others, and with nature through shared outdoor experiences, meaningful relationships, and the symbolic thread of human connection.
  • Reconnecting with ourselves – increasing self-awareness, emotional clarity, and personal resilience.
  • Building meaningful relationships – fostering trust, empathy, authentic communication, and a sense of belonging.
  • Connecting through intercultural experiences – reducing stereotypes and strengthening European identity through shared living and learning.
  • Reconnecting with nature – using the Via Transilvanica trail and outdoor experiences as a source of well-being and learning.
  • Learning through shared challenges – developing teamwork, responsibility, adaptability, and practical outdoor skills.
  • Creating lasting connections – weaving together personal stories, collective memories, and experiences symbolized by the “thread”.

Programme points:

We want to leave some surprises for you regarding the program, however, you should be prepared for having…

The Outward Bound youth centre:

The Outward Bound International Youth Center is located on the edge of Sovata, at the end of 1 Mai Street, in a beautiful mountain valley alongside a flowing stream, far away from any city noise.

The center provides excellent conditions for the facilitation of camping, seminars, team-building, and areas for group meetings/training. The youth center has a small lake and a ropes course, a big courtyard. The participants will be accommodated in 3 to 5 bedded rooms, with common bathroom.

The Path that Unites

Via Transilvanica, the „road that unites“ is a 1,400 kilometer long distance trail, a tourist route that crosses Romania diagonally. The path is marked with painted markers, signposts and at every kilometer there is an individually carved andesite stone, therefore all these milestones can probably become the longest art gallery in the world, which accompanies travelers along the way.

During the 5-day hike you will have the chance to walk part of the trail between Praid (Parajd) and Szejkefürdő (Băile Seiche / Odorheiu Secuiesc area), around 50 kms meanwhile deeply connecting to the surrounding nature, yourself and the others. Find out more about Via Transylvanica here.
