Popis projektu:

Collective Imagine is the 9th edition of the Youth Experiential Learning Program that blends activism with non-formal education. The project follows a developed methodology by Active Rainbow, which is upgraded and expanded with every edition of it.

The origins of the method began in the first project that took place in 2018 in the Netherlands, and since then, there have been organized in total eight activistic camps around Europe – in the Netherlands, Slovenia, Greece, and Latvia.

Previous editions have been awarded as Good Practice Project Examples from the respective National Agencies of Erasmus+ educational programme in the countries.

Collective Imagine is a 12 days dynamic skills-based learning programme for young people who are at the beginning of their activistic journey, and want to create a lasting social change.

The idea behind this project is to bring together LGBTQIA+/Queer and allies youth, in a shared space, where you can explore and experience different forms of activism, starting from the form of community building.

This means that from Day 1, the group, you create your ”activist camp” with agreements on creating your safer and braver space that encourages dialogue, accountability, peer learning and active participation.

Part of the community living includes taking care of your community home on a practical level with daily tasks (cleaning/tidying/decorating as you wish/preparing and setting up breakfast, organizing barbeque evenings, games and more. Within the set framework, you take care of your playground and learn to self and community organizing.

Objectives:

  • Foster peer learning and Exchange different types of activism (community building, street actions, digital, non-formal learning, art, storytelling and more) and lift participants‘ active participatory attitude in their lives and in society.
  • Increase lifelong competencies and boost the self-confidence and growth of participants during all phases, empowering their self awareness, emotional and physical well-being and sense of belonging.
  • Form connections with each other, embrace our intersectionality and sustain a network of young activists all around Europe.
  • Become a vibrant part of “Collective Imagine” project and its next phases, sharing the project results and amplifying the young voices and their critical role in building inclusive societies.

Learning approach:

This learning programme follows an experiential learning approach and is highly participatory and interactive, giving you the chance for self-reflection and self-evaluation. This approach involves learning by doing and peer to peer learning (learning from each other).

Within the given context and given group, you are the actor of your own learning and creator of your own experience. The outcome of your experience depends solely on you while guided and supported by the facilitators in correlation to the rest of the group.

You will be a part of an intercultural environment and as much as possible an intersectional space and have the chance to work individually, in pairs, in small teams and in a big group. You will be able to exchange on LGBTQIA+/Queer related issues, understand the form of activism that fits you the most, what activism means to you, become inspired by yourself and your peers.
