Popis projektu:

Together with our partners, we are looking for participants for the Training Course “Inspire - Social Innovation & Leadership” that will take place in Slettestrand, Denmark, from 12 to 25 November 2019 (both dates being travel days). The activity is a Mobility of Youth Workers under the programme Erasmus+ of the European Union, implemented by the European House, Copenhagen.

Context the project

EU 2020 strategy puts a significant role upon young people creating jobs, growth and sustainability within Europe. Youth make up one fifth of the total population in Europe and thus its future prosperity is dependent upon them. Nevertheless, it can be seen that young people are leaving schools too early and are at greater risk of being unemployed and marginalised. The rate of young people aged 16-29 years at risk of poverty or social exclusion in the EU  was 28 %, or 21.8 million young people.

Reflecting upon ways to enhance social cohesion in Europe, as well as to enhance youth employment, innovation and social entrepreneurship are an effective alternative to foster young people's transversal skills and empower them to be socially engaged and, ultimately, be leaders of positive changes in their societies.

In this context, the aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of youth organisations to foster young people’s responsibility for their social environment through leadership, and at the same time tackle social issues through a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Presentation of the Activity:
To contribute at the achievement of the project objectives, a 12-day training course for youth workers will be organised to:

  1. To strengthen capacity of the partner organizations and their youth workers to promote a  culture of social innovation and entrepreneurship among young people;
  2. To enhance capacity of partner organizations and their youth workers to develop in young people a sense of leadership and peer responsibility;
  3. To strengthen the network between youth organizations in Europe for the benefit of fostering social cohesion amongst youth. The training course is non-academic, and it is based on non-formal education. The methods applied by the trainers/facilitators are mainly, but not exclusively, interactive.

The training will give youth workers tools to:

  • foster leadership in young people.
  • foster creativity and innovation in young people.
  • Support and coach young people in their social entrepreneurship initiatives.

Participants' profile:

The target group of the training course are youth workers actively involved in the partner
organisations. The participants must as well fulfil the additional criteria below:

  • Be over 18 years old;
  • Have direct responsibility for working with young people in the partners’ organization;
  • Have a good command of English;
  • Be able to attend the entire training;
  • Have potential and be motivated to exploit the learning outcomes and multiply the project results.
  • Agree on the Participant Declaration: http://intercollege.info/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Participants-declaration.pdf

Candidates who do not fulfil the requirements will not be accepted.

Application and selection procedure:
