Popis projektu:

This Youth Exchange aims to foster an inclusive society for marginalized groups facing discrimination and limited social engagement opportunities. It seeks to enhance international youth cooperation across six countries, advocating for national initiatives to increase public awareness against discrimination, hate speech, and racism targeting these groups. This collaboration will allow young individuals from six nations to explore diverse cultures, traditions, and customs, fostering acceptance and understanding of differences among people with fewer opportunities. The exchange will establish long-term partnerships between six organizations, sharing national strategies and methods for social inclusion through non-formal education. Over eight days of non-formal learning activities, we aim to enrich participants‘ competencies, skills, behaviors, and knowledge in social inclusion and equal opportunity creation for marginalized individuals.

This Youth Exchange’s focus on:

  • Educating young people about an inclusive, equal society with social rights and equal opportunities for everyone.
  • Introducing young individuals to methods for combating discrimination, hate speech, and racism.
  • Developing approaches to promote tolerance and social rights for youth with restricted social lives.
  • Familiarizing young people with non-formal learning methodologies.

We are a group of young people who decided to step together as a organisation Integrational e.V., because of the main common goal: Recognition of the fulfillment of the potential of every young person that reaches out to us.

All of us have been part of various Erasmus projects, at the same time we are active in the local town as we are helping many NGOs in the field of youth work, and also help with paperwork. But everywhere we go we face a lack of critical thinking skills and objectivism with effective debating. There are many events and projects but everywhere we noticed that during our participation in other projects, we faced one of the main issues in many workshops – lost points.

That means that none of the participants understood what the point of certain workshops is, what activity, and what is the added value. Therefore, we came to the untapped potential of many participants, and in our opinion, this is a huge loss. That is why we planned our project differently, so each step and activity has a point and connection to the final goals.

That is why we have decided to carry out an „EMBRACE“ project so that we can directly strengthen and help, especially young people with fewer opportunities. Young people from vulnerable groups lack self-esteem, and the major problem is fear and the role of victims. All this takes them out of the way of improvement, and that’s exactly what we want to solve with this project. Being „non-discriminative“ means being aware of other thoughts, emotions, lives, and how you’re feeling both physically and mentally. And „genius“ refers to being especially skilled at a particular activity – in our case understanding other lives and challenges.

We aim to make this world a better place by breaking the borders, and hurtful stereotypes, and bringing people together from throughout the world. Having taken part in projects in the past as participants and seeing the changes that occurred in our lives after, both in our personal and professional, we gathered together to share our experiences but also receive so we can improve ourselves.

*Issues

The latest EU report from March 19, 2021, discusses discrimination, including direct, interdisciplinary discrimination, and harassment of marginalized groups with limited social opportunities. This growing issue within the EU significantly impacts marginalized communities, subjecting them to physical and psychological violence, intimidation, harassment, hate speech, racism, and discrimination. Despite these challenges, studies highlight successful practices for eliminating these negative effects and developing policies for isolation. Through non-formal education and the Erasmus+ program, the NGO sector can empower young individuals to become change ambassadors, raising awareness and offering methodologies to support and include young people with fewer opportunities across the EU.

Participants will acquire new skills, knowledge, and competencies, empowering them to enhance their learning outcomes, embrace various non-formal education methodologies, and pursue personal and professional growth. The exchange aims to boost initiative, action, and entrepreneurial engagement, increase self-awareness and self-esteem, and encourage respect and public awareness. Furthermore, it will improve foreign language and digital competencies, intercultural awareness, and active societal participation, motivating attendees to champion positive change.
