Popis projektu:

Nearly 20 years after the Internet, classical diplomacy has changed shape with the use of social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube in foreign policy relations, and diplomatic problems have led to the use of digital communication techniques for diplomatic purposes.

Today, young people who use social media tools extremely effectively and widely are essential to have the ability to influence human diplomacy most accurately by establishing world public opinion.

In the Digital 2021 Report, there are 4.2 billion active social media users in Turkey and the world using the internet and social media.

Young people are unaware that they can use digital media for humanitarian diplomacy. Through social media, there is a need to raise awareness of diplomacy, digital diplomacy, and humanitarian diplomacy as virtual diplomat ambassadors.

Based on this need, we aim to contribute to the spread of social media among young people and to develop their ability to take responsibility and initiative by using social media effectively and correctly in the context of humanitarian diplomacy.

For our project, our objectives are below;
• Young people are aware of the innocents who are victims of humanitarian diplomacy and conflicts,
• Young people to know how diplomatic decisions are made,
• How diplomatic decisions affect the world and how real diplomats act,
• To evaluate the new environment brought by digitalization with the digitalized world,
• To learn digital diplomacy and application channels and to recognize effective digital diplomacy strategy and good practices,
• To strengthen the personal, social, and civic competence of young people,
• To increase the skills of young people such as cooperation and networking,
• To develop the ICT skills of young people,
• Youthpass is to raise awareness about knowledge and European opportunities through European solidarity corps and common learning method.

Impact

Participants will be provided with unique information about diplomacy associated with simulation activities, including how diplomatic decisions are made, how diplomatic decisions affect the world, and how real diplomats act. In this way, participants will learn unique information in the diplomatic sphere and share great experiences. One of the best ways to raise diplomatic awareness is to simulate and feel exactly how diplomatic operations are conducted. Through this project, participants will learn how to incorporate this knowledge into real actions that will increase their diplomatic awareness and help them achieve a better life. This will contribute to the upbringing of conscious individuals in society.

Young people involved in the dynamics of social cohesion, peacekeeping, conflict resolution, humanitarian diplomacy, and digital diplomacy will gain a better working capacity at the European level by creating a network of youth organizations through the knowledge they have learned.

Young people who have gained knowledge in project management, erasmus+ projects writing, and development will then be able to write their projects

Through the project activities, participants will discuss important issues related to humanity, the economy, social issues, and many other issues that are closely related to society. Thanks to the workshops on these subjects, the participants; will gain skills in analyzing, reviewing, and evaluating different ideas and events. Individuals related to society will be formed.

This project is a step towards achieving this goal based on the lack of use of youth power from the 17 Sustainable Development Goals discussed by the United Nations. We recognize that achieving this goal is not easy, and we do not claim that this will help achieve SDGs directly, but our goal is to raise awareness of participants and empower them to make as much effort as possible.
